With NFL football beginning uninterrupted, it’s that time again for friends, family, and now Hoops4Life bloggers to make their picks on who will be the 2012 NFL champions.

Pick: Philadelphia Eagles

Philadelphia has made some of the biggest moves in the off-season and have set themselves up for a serious Super Bowl run. They’ll have Asante Samuel, Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie, and Nnamdi Asomugha holding their defense together and they made some other great signings in Cullen Jenkins and Jason Babin.

Michael Vick, DeSean Jackson, LeSean McCoy and Jeremy Maclin should have huge seasons. The Eagles have the ability to score on teams at will.

Pick: New England Patriots

I believe the Patriots have the right system and players to run the AFC conference yet again this year, as they have in many years past. There biggest rival has been the Indianapolis Colts, and I would almost bet money on them not making the playoffs this year. The Patriots made a few key off-season additions that should really help them become the dominant team in the AFC again. The biggest game(s) of the year will be against the New York Jets, and Tom Brady should be able to carve them up. The only other team that I think could beat the Patriots in the playoffs would be the Pittsburgh Steelers, and they are my early number 2 favorite.

Pick: Green Bay Packers

If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it right? Well, The Packers won it all last year, and they are destined to do it again. With many injured weapons on offense and defense coming back from injury this year, and an even better Aaron Rodgers, there’s no team who can stop Green Bay. The Eagles are too hyped up; they’re going to have tons of pressure on them, which will lead to their loss in the NFC championship game. The Patriots have tons of talent but their defense will not be able to keep up with all the options the Packers have on offense. Packers take the superbowl over New England.

Pick: Green Bay Packers

Most people either had the Steelers or Pats coming out of the AFC, but I don’t think it’s their year for either team. I think the Ravens or the Chargers will come out of the AFC.

As far as the Packers, the thing that sets them apart is health. They won last season with a banged up squad. However, their young guys stepped up, made plays, and made names for themselves. This season, not only are those young players more seasoned, but we might see a healthy Packer team which is even more deadly, and Rodgers is arguably a top 3 QB in the game along with Brady and Manning. Some feel he’s the best QB in the entire league. If they can stay healthy, I think they have a huge shot at repeating, despite the New Orleans faithful hoping their team can bring another title back to Louisiana.
