Small forwards are often the most under valued players on a basketball team. The are often high flying dunkers, great defenders and premier scorers. Usually these lists have big introductions, but hey, let's get to the list of the NBA's 5 best small forwards for this up coming season. |

I haven't really stuck my hat into much as the USA Mens Basketball team, A.K.A the Redeem Team, has made garbage out of every team that they have played, winning handily at each event.
I've been watching, I've been enjoying, I just haven't been writing about it.
However, I am ready. This is the gold medal game vs. Spain, this is what this team has been going for, and I am ready to stay up until four in the morning to give you all a running diary of this game as it happens.

In the previous three international competitions, the world witnessed anyone other than the United States men’s basketball team on top of the global stage.
The U.S. has now earned that title back.
Team USA had to play four competitive quarters of basketball before beating Spain, 118-107. Spain was without its leader, Jose Calderon, but scared the Americans for much of the game.

It’s the gold medal game most expected: The mighty Americans facing the tenacious Spaniards.
I will let you right now, this won’t be the 37-point blowout that everyone saw in pool play. After Spain got down early to the Americans, they essentially packed it in to allow the US play Argentina in the semifinals. |

It seemed like everyone in the media responded to the early blowouts from the United States men’s basketball team by wondering when the challenge was going to come.
It was supposed to come against Argentina, who Team USA beat 101-81 in one of the weirdest Olympic games you could ever watch. Things looked ugly early on as the Americans had a 21-4 start to the game while Manu Ginobili got hurt in the first quarter. It looked like the Argentineans would lose just as bad to the U.S. as Australia did in the quarterfinals.

As all the analysts expected, USA Basketball will face Spain in the Olympics Gold Medal match. The United Stated advanced to the final after beating the defending champion Argentina by 101-81. On the other hand, Spain defeated Lithuania in a heartbreaker game by 91-86.
The United States reaches the final unbeaten, and they have won their games by an overall difference of more than 25 points. Spain, is having an irregular performance during the tournament. The current World Champions have not showed the way of playing that allowed them to clinch the Naismith Trophy couple of years ago.

They have been the most impressive squad in the NBA over the past eight years, but the San Antonio Spurs couldn’t get it done last year in the Western Conference Finals last year against the Los Angeles Lakers.
That being said, what is in store for the Spurs for the upcoming season? Keep your eyes out for some of these things: determination, hard work, and great coaching. |

Tomorrow will feature two good matchups in the Olympic men’s basketball semifinals. Three of these four teams will medal but only one can take home the gold.
The United States look like the favorite out of this bunch after blowing out every team they’ve competed against including Greece and Spain. Tomorrow the U.S. will face Argentina, who won the previous Olympic match during the semifinals in 2004.

He’s been a YouTube legend for years, but after the Beijing Olympics, Americans are now familiar with what Spain’s 17-year-old phenom guard Ricky Rubio brings to the table. He was by no means dominant against NBA All-Stars Chris Paul and Deron Williams, but that doesn’t mean he didn’t hold his own.
Rubio, who entered the professional basketball ranks at the ripe age of 14, has lived up to some pretty lofty expectations playing in Spain’s most competitive league while still a teenager.
