With their backs against the wall after going down three games to one in the NBA Finals, the Los Angeles Lakers fell flat on its face in Game Four, as the Boston Celtics trounced its opponent 131-92. Though Paul Pierce struggled from the field, shooting only 4-13, his defense on Kobe Bryant – as has been the case throughout the series – was stellar. Pierce held Bryant to just 22 points on 7-22 from the field. Kevin Garnett and Ray Allen took care of the offense, combining for 52 points on 18-30 shooting from the field. Garnett added 14 rebounds, while Allen shot 7-9 from beyond the three point arc to spread the court. Rajon Rondo was also a big contributor, scoring 21 points, dishing out 8 assists with only one turnover and nabbing 6 steals. |

Game Four of the 2008 NBA Finals might’ve been the most exciting one yet. The Boston Celtics came back from being down by as much as 24 points to go up 3-1 in the series against the Los Angeles Lakers. Paul Pierce scored 20 points and played tough defense against Kobe Bryant, holding him to just 17 points on 6-19 shooting; Kevin Garnett played his typical stellar defense in the paint, and tagged 11 rebounds to show for it; Ray Allen was the only player to play all 48 minutes and scored 19 points to go along with 9 rebounds; and James Posey was sensational off the bench with 18 points, while shooting 4-8 from beyond the arc. |

The Los Angeles Lakers avoided elimination in Game Three of the 2008 NBA Finals by defeating the Boston Celtics 87-81. It was a must-win situation for LA, and for much of the game it looked as though the Celtics might pull it off. Boston led by two points heading into the fourth quarter. |

Though the Celtics hold a 2-0 lead over the Los Angeles Lakers in the NBA Finals, it’s hard to imagine that Kobe Bryant’s Lakers won’t bring more to the table in game 3. The Celtics held a 24-point lead in game 2 before nearly blowing it. |
