''被忽略'' - That means overlooked in Chinese. That was excactly what Tracy McGrady was at the beginning of the season with the emergence of his Chinese superstar team-mate Yao Ming. Yao Ming had rightfully earned the title of being the "Leagues Most Dominant Centre", while Tracy McGrady remained lingering in the shadows. The ghosts of the last season still seemed to haunt him and he started to face something that he hadn't faced since his days with the Toronto Raptors. Doubts. Questions. The critics started to ponder about if it was time for T-Mac to retire. How long was his unpredictable back going to stay unpredictable? |

The highly anticipated return of the Golden Nugget was nothing short of spectacular. Carmelo Anthony finally adorned the baby blue and white jersey with "Nuggets" stitched in blue in the front. Carmelo Anthony was the first to arrive at the Pepsi Center working at his jumpshot in preparation to square of against the worst team in the league- the Grizzlies. During his 36-day suspension Melo made frequent visits to the arena after games to work on his game and make sure that the leagues leading scorer wouldnt be rusty once he made his return. Melo was received with a standing ovation during the introductions. He took the microphone and addressed the fans saying, "We're gonna y'all something to cheer about." |

If you would look at Allen Iverson you would see a man with long braids and tattoos adorning his entire body. If you would look beyond that you would see how Iverson has changed the game of basketball as we know it today. No other basketball player, since Michael Jordan, has made an impact on t he game of basketball as Allen Iverson has. Iverson brought with him a passion and a zest for the game. Allen Iverson is six feet of pure talent and fury. He is a natural born leader on and off the hard wood. The passion with which he plays the game energizes his entire team and he sets an example for his fellow teammates to excel. Allen Iverson has always thrived in a hostile environment and it seems that he has made it a point to prove all the doubters wrong. Iverson does whatever it takes to win. As the leader of his team he shoulders the entire load and shines the brightest when his teams needs him the most. Whether it’s a quick basket or defensive stop, if that’s what is required out of him he will deliver. He is a true warrior who will take the ball right to the basket in the land of the giants without giving a second thought to the battering which his body will experience. People look at him in awe and wonder how a man of his small stature has the courage to do what he does. He gives hope to everyone that they are in control of their destiny. |

"I'm gonna be a force; It's gonna be an interesting season, brotha."
Have the back injuries then truly gone? Or will they remain to be a ghost that will continue to haunt him. Can we expect a good post-season run? Could we expect a post-season? He practically missed half of the season last year due to back spasms, playing just 47 games. He has had most of the regular season, off-sesaon and pre-season to put all the injuries and all the miseries of a season which could have been, behind him. It is finally time for him to redeem himself among the game's elite players.
It is no point in reminiscing on the glory days of T-Mac. The charisma and power he once controlled the court with when he was wearing a star-studded jersey has now gone. Do not expect to see him on SportsCenter as often for his amazing plays and thunderous dunks. Get used to seeing a T-Mac who is more comfortable and more than happy to take that long and smooth jumper. I for one really don't ming his new style of play. It opens up his whole game for him. He's very efficent with his jump-shot. He knows, they know, we all know that if he want to drive past his defender in search of the next Shawn Bradley he can do it. But can his back handle it? |
