![]() Boston was never out of the game even when they were down by 24. They kept their composure and slowly chipped away at the large lead of the Lakers. The team was led by Ray Allen who had 19 points, 9 rebounds and 2 assists. His teammate Paul Pierce was also stellar. Pierce dropped 20 points to match with 7 assists. As usual, Kevin Garnett was monstrous on the boards. He grabbed a total of 11 rebounds to go along with his 16 points. The Big Three combined for a total of 55 points out of the team’s 97. The plays created by their coach, Doc Rivers, for the fourth quarter were focused on the Big Three’s skill set. The bench was a big factor in the outcome of the game. The Celtics had excellent offensive help from two of their premiere bench players. James Posey scored 18 points, 12 coming from the three point area, and Eddie House had 11. The Lakers did not get as much scoring presence from their second unit. Their bench team only had a total of 15 points for the whole game. However, the starting team carried the load but was still unsuccessful in the end. The Boston Celtics can end this series in the Lakers’ home court come Game 5. Yet, they know that it will not be an easy task. They managed to close out Kobe Bryant for this game but they know the MVP is out for revenge in the next game. They have seen how Kobe can take over a game. They know that he can score 81 points in four quarters. They know that their 3-1 series lead is not a cushion. In this year’s highly-contested NBA Finals, there is no such thing as a safe lead. Set as favorite Bookmark Comments
