![]() In their Game 5 match-up between the Detroit Pistons, the Boston Celtics had more of their share of end game drama. Leading by 13 points by the end of the third quarter, the Celtics seemed to have it won but the boys from Detroit refused to go down without a fight. The Pistons managed to cut down the lead to one point with a few seconds left in the game. However, Ray Allen calmly shot a 2-pointer with the shot clock winding down to give his team a 3-point cushion. In the end game, Garnett’s free throws sealed the deal but it would not have been all possible if Allen was not able to make that crucial shot. For the Pistons, it was a very disappointing loss. They knew they had the Celtics in the brink of a 4th quarter collapse until Allen scored. Detroit was on the verge of an upset, with Chauncey Billups leading the way. He scored 26 points to go along with 6 assists and 5 rebounds. But, it was not enough as the Celtics got away with a victory. The Pistons also suffered a setback as their top shooter Rip Hamilton suffered an injury late in the game. Hamilton was still able to put up 25 points, 6 assists and 2 steals before leaving the game. The Celtics need only one more win to enter the NBA Finals and face the winner of the Los Angeles Lakers – San Antonio Spurs series. There are still two games left in the Eastern Conference Finals and Boston knows that Detroit will be seeking revenge in Game 6. It will be an exciting battle to watch as both teams will be giving it all they have got. The Pistons will be fighting for a decisive Game 7 while the Celtics will be playing for the chance to represent the East in this year’s championship game. Set as favorite Bookmark Comments
