Former MVP Steve Nash showcased his talent and proved to the world why he is still one of the most dangerous point guards during these Playoff matches. He dished out 13 assists while scoring 25 points. Nash had a sub-par performance, making only 9 shots out of 20 attempts. Still, he was an integral factor during the second overtime period, making an off-balance three to tie the game. But it wasn’t enough as the Spurs were able to put up a counter-attack with a play designed for NBA Sixth Man of the Year Manu Ginobili. The Argentinean native made the final shot of the game, an awkward-looking layup over the Suns’ Raja Bell. The Spurs were both strategic and lucky at the same time. During the regulation period, Michael Finley hit a crucial three to send the game to the first overtime. During the extra period, an exchange of baskets kept the score close but the Spurs still trailed by three during the closing seconds. Ginobili made an attempt to attack but he was ganged up by two Suns players. This gave an opening to Duncan, who was wide open for in the three-point area. Ginobili passed the ball to Duncan who hits the game-tying three pointer to force a second overtime. It was Tim Duncan’s first made three pointer for the season. Game Two of the Spurs-Suns series will be another must-watch match in the 2008 NBA Playoffs. Duncan, Ginobili and super guard Tony Parker will be once again heading the pack for San Antonio as they face the fierce trio of the Suns’ O’Neal, Nash and high-flying forward Amare Stoudemire. The Suns will definitely be making adjustments to counter-attack the Spurs’ calculated offense. However, San Antonio will also be calibrating their playbook to avoid any overtimes and finish the game within the regular period. Set as favorite Bookmark Comments
