On the road, Boston finished with a 31-10 win-loss record. Here in the playoffs, they are still winless on the road after taking on their opponents over their respective home courts. Fans and basketball analysts are now asking, what's with Boston and why are they only good when playing back home? It's a good thing that the Celtics have the home court advantage in all the games this season. What if it is otherwise? They would be gone by now, for sure. Boston is not playing in its true championship form. If they want to at least finish as the Eastern Conference champions, they have to impress their fans with a win not just in their home court but everywhere else. They also have to show their opponents that they can beat them right in their home town. Not winning games on the road has a big effect not only on the team's morale but on their overall performance as well. Winning on the road gives a team an added boost in their spirit, knowing that they can beat any team, even if the crowd is working not in their favor. Not winning on the road means that Boston would have to win their every series in seven games. That's not a very promising thought, as they would have to work their heart out throughout the very last game allowed in each level. Fatigue will definitely set in. And in the long run, the players would get tired running around the court and would start thinking of sailing in their private yachts instead. Now, that's one reason why athletes play with their minds not on the game. Boston have to realize that not winning on the road is not acceptable, even if they have the safety net of having the home court advantage all throughout this playoffs series. They have to realize that if they lose a game back home, they are going to find it hard to bounce back in the game. Worse, it could spell their team's end. Boston finished as the best team this NBA season. Their fans are expecting too much from them now. If they are raring to get the championship ring, their fans are clamoring for it twice as much. And if they fail to get it, the die-hard Boston fans are going to be disappointed even more. Kevin Garnett, together with his team, should get back their form and start winning on the road again. If they want this series to end happily ever after for them, it is not the time to lie low and make the full use of their home court advantage. They have to be as aggressive and as powerful on the road as they are several games before. They should also start looking at things differently. It is the playoffs season and the games are a notch harder with all the players working their hearts out. In the end, the team that wants the championship more will win it. Is it going to be Boston? Not unless they start to realize that winning in seven games is like not winning at all. Set as favorite Bookmark Comments
