It is that time of year again where everyone and their mother tries to pick who will be the chosen one in the up coming NBA draft. Who will be the player the Chicago Bulls pick at #1 to get their franchise back to a title contender in the East? Michael Beasley or Derrick Rose? Will Miami get a player to make the Heat a triple threat with Marion and Wade?
Some many questions, so little time, one thing is for certain, this draft show cases some of the most talented players we have seen in a long time. From top to bottom this year’s NBA draft has play makers and game changers to instant impact players, the boys that get drafted this year may certainly change the face of the NBA in the years to come.
 1. Chicago Bulls - Michael Beasley, Kansas State This pick will be debated up until the time the Bulls send David Stern to the podium, Michael Beasley or Derrick Rose? Many people think Rose is the obvious choice, Chicago is his hometown and with Rose running the point the Bulls will be a dangerous team, but the problem is Kirk Hinrich. Some say they will trade Hinrich and others say the will move him the two spot (which is ridiculous). That is why I think Michael Beasley would be perfect for Chicago. Beasley is a beast, rebounding machine and can carry a team on his back much like Tim Duncan. With the departure of Ben Wallace to Cleveland, the Bulls are in desperate need of an inside presence which makes Beasley an ideal candidate.
 2. Miami Heat - Derrick Rose, Memphis I think this is perfect pick for Miami! Rose is the total package at point guard blessed the ability to score at will and be an excellent distributor. This kid is so good he is already getting comparisons to the two best point guards in the league, Deron Williams of Utah and Chris Paul from New Orleans. The Heat could use Beasley regardless, but I think with a backcourt like Dwyane Wade and Derrick Rose, you can’t go wrong! 3. Minnesota Timberwolves - OJ Mayo, USC This pick is interesting because the T’Wolves need help in every single position so they could potentially go anywhere, but if they want to start winning games now, they need to go after a potential superstar who could put butts in the seats and Ws in the standings. I say they will go for OJ Mayo, who will be a future superstar guard in this league, but I wouldn’t be surprised to see Indiana’s Eric Gordon go here either as both players are very similar. Gordon has more of an upside with Mayo’s recent allegations, but Mayo seems like a good fit.
4. Seattle Supersonics - Jared Bayless, Arizona If the Sonics need help anywhere first, it is the point guard position; especially with Delonte West going to Cleveland in the monster trade that happen earlier this year. Bayless would fit in perfectly with Seattle and give a put a little less pressure on Kevin Durant to score like a madman.
5. Memphis Grizzlies - Brooke Lopez, Stanford Now this is a franchise in desperate need of a big man, I don’t think Lopez will be all the good in the NBA, but since Pau Gasol is out of the picture and Kwame Brown is an absolute dog, Lopez is a given at #5 for Memphis.
6. New York Knicks - Eric Gordon, Indiana Much like Minnesota, the Knicks really need a boost in the superstar department and when you need a superstar it usually means you are going after a shooting guard with all the right moves. Eric Gordon is a pure shooter and a natural when it comes to scoring. Although D’Antoni loves point guards, he can’t go wrong with Gordon.
7. Los Angeles Clippers - Russell Westbrook, UCLA If both Mayo and Gordon are gone by the time the Clippers get their shot, I believe they will go after the third best option at the two spot. Although Westbrook isn’t the scoring machine type, he can get you 20 on any given night and he playing solid defense which the Clipps need desperately!
8. Milwaukee Bucks - Anthony Randolph, LSU The Bucks are in a difficult position, not bad by any means, but difficult because they have all the pieces to win right now with Michael Redd, Mo Williams, Yi and Andrew Bogut. So where do they draft? My guess is they go after Randolph who is a solid SF who can help them off the bench.
9. Charlotte Bobcats - Kevin Love, UCLA Love is my favorite player in the draft, not the most athletic, but he has the highest basketball IQ of all the players in this year’s draft. MJ has had some pretty terrible drafts in the past, most notably picking Kwame Brown #1 in 2001 for the Washington Wizards, but with the combination of new Bobcats coach Larry Brown’s insight, I believe they go after Love who is a perfect fit for a Bobcats team that is only a few pieces away from becoming a real threat in the East.
10. New Jersey Nets - Darrell Arthur, Kansas The Nets need an inside presence and Arthur would be the best pick if Lopez and Love are gone, which they will be. The Nets haven’t had a decent big man since Jayson Williams which was like a zillion years ago, so having a big body like Arthur would be a good piece to the Nets puzzle.
11. Indiana Pacers - D.J. Augustin, Texas Some say Russell Westbrook will go here and if he falls this far, he probably will, but I don’t think he will so the next best thing for the Pacers would be D.J. Augustin from Texas, may not have Westbrook’s skills on defense, but a solid point guard.
12. Sacramento Kings - Danilo Gallinari, Italy The Kings are in serious rebuilding mode after trading Mike Bibby and Ron Artest looking to be on his way out too, they need to find another solid player to compliment Kevin Martin. Mario Chalmers may be the player they want, but won’t be the player available so they will go with small forward Danilo Gallinari.
13. Portland Trailblazers - Joe Alexander, West Virginia Man! The Blazers are just getting the right picks at the right time! Joe Alexander isn’t much of a game changer, but he will definitely help a very young and talented Blazers team led by Brandon Roy if they don’t decide to deal the pick which might be the better option.
14. Golden State Warriors- JaVale McGee, Nevada Much like the Blazers, the Warriors came up in getting this pick! Free agency may be the deciding factor in this pick considering Golden State current free agents, but they will go for a big body for a team dominated by guards.
15. Phoenix Suns - Brandon Rush, Kansas If the Kansas kid falls this far, the Suns would be missing out not picking up Rush to help out an aging backcourt, Rush should fit in the run and gun pretty well depending on whether new coach Terry Porter wants to go that route which has resulted in many a playoff exits. 16. Philadelphia 76ers - Marresse Speights, Florida If the Sixers miss out on the Elton Brand race, which they probably will because what high priced free agent wants to go to the Sixers, they will be looking for another big body to play alongside Samuel Dalembert. 17. Toronto Raptors - Donte Green, Syracuse The Raptors might go big which would bring Robin Lopez into play, but my money is on Green who is a do it all type player who has a good shot and run the floor well. 18. Washington Wizards - Serge Ibaka, Congo The Wiz will probably look at getting a PF with this pick depending on how well there free agent signings go, but they may just go for a center.
19. Cleveland Cavaliers - Kosta Koufos, Ohio State This kid is being compared to a young Ilgauskas, how is getting very noticeably old and slooow, so having Koufos backing him up would be a good move for the Cavs.
20. Denver Nuggets - Robin Lopez, Stanford With Marcus Camby not getting any younger and involved in trade talks every season, the other Lopez brother would be insurance pending a trade or a replacement for the aging Camby.
21. New Jersey Nets- Chase Budinger, Arizona For the second pick in the first round for the rebuilding Nets, they wouldn’t mind picking up this promising two guard from Arizona to add some scoring to compliment Vince Carter and Richard Jefferson.
22. Orlando Magic - Chris Douglas-Roberts, Memphis The Magic are in need for some guards with both Arroyo and Dooling hitting the free agent market and the obvious lack of faith in JJ Reddick, so expect a PG or SG in the Magic’s crosshairs. 23. Utah Jazz - Roy Hibbert, Georgetown Utah has there sights set on this kid from G-Town, making him one of the first players to come workout with the team. He would be a perfect fit for the Jazz who would be a pretty scary sight with all there big man. 24. Seattle Supersonics - J.J. Hickson, N. C. State After picking up point guard Bayless with the #3 pick the next position to go to work on would be PF or C and this Hickson would fit in nicely if Hibbert and Lopez don’t fall to #24
25. Houston Rockets - Nicolas Batum, France Batum would fit in seamlessly in Houston’s offense, who is in need of a good SF. He he drops to the Rockets pick, he will be on his way to Houston.
26. San Antonio Spurs - Ty Lawson, UNC One thing that the Spurs have lack over the past few years, which isn’t much, is a solid backup for Tony Parker. Lawson would be that backup at #26.
27. New Orleans Hornets - Chris Douglas-Roberts, Memphis The Hornets are pretty stacked at every position with Chandler, West, Wells and of course Chris Paul running the point, but they haven’t really been great at SG which is probably where they will try to go at #27. 28. Memphis Grizzlies - Mario Chalmers, Kansas The Grizzlies will be aiming to go big just like they did at the beginning of the draft, but they may have to settle for the best player available and Chalmers is just that. 29. Detroit Pistons - Bill Walker, Kansas State The Pistons have a knack for picking up sleepers in the draft and they think that Walker would be a good fit and can contribute sooner rather than later. 30. Boston Celtics - Alexis Ajinca, France Not like KG and company are in much need of improvement in any area, but they are all not getting any younger. Alexis maybe coming into the league a little pretty mature, but he could turn out to be a good big man for the Celtics down the road.
