![]() If you could pick any one player to guard a different point guard, most people would pick Billups. Chauncey was named to all NBA defensive teams both in 04-05 and 05-06. However Billups seems to be slightly declining in the past few years. His assists and rebound averages both went down from last season while his points average stayed the same. Age might possibly be starting to take a toll on the all-star. Here are Billups stats from last season: 17 ppg, 6.8 apg, 2.7 rpg, 1.3 spg and 2.1 tpg. Chauncey shot 45% from the field, 92% from the line and 41% from beyond the arc last season. Baron Davis is a better scorer then Billups. Despite Billups being a much better shooter, in all aspects, Davis takes more shots and drives to the hoop much better. It's hard to say how he will do next year considering he will be on a brand new team, the Los Angeles Clippers. There was some early speculation of him going to the Lakers to play with Kobe, but that didn't happen. Personally, I think he would have been much better off staying with the Warriors instead of going to the Clips. If you want a consistent good shooting guard who won't turn the ball over, you would be much better off with Billups. But if you want a fast, flashy guard who can take it to the hoop while also getting his team mates involved and rebound, you want Baron Davis. Davis is also a good defender, he gets more steals and blocks then Billups, but I would say Billups is a better lock-down guy. Here are Davis' stats from last season: 21.8 ppg, 7.6 apg, 4.7 rpg, 2.3 spg, 0.5 bpg, 2.8 tpg. As I said before, Davis isn't as good of shooter as Billups, last year he shot 43% from the field, 33% from three and 75% from the line. It is hard to say who I would choose. Davis would be better to have if you need a scorer, but if you want a guy who will buckle down, give you solid points and minutes every game, I would take Billups. Davis can get 35 points one game, but then the next give you 9. For example, is last three games of the year he had 21 points, then 7 points, then 25 points. Billups will give you 15-20 solid points ever game. Verdict: Chauncey Billups Set as favorite Bookmark Comments
