1) Portland Trailblazers: Greg Oden | C | Ohio State It’s basically a given that Portland will go with Oden who is arguably the first and the best can’t miss big man to come along in a decade since Tim Duncan. His outstanding character is a bonus.
Alternative: -
2) Seattle Supersonics: Kevin Durant | F| Texas Durant may be a superior talent to Oden but few franchises have the guts to skip over the 7’0 defensive monster for the transcending talent that is Durant. Portland’s loss is Seattle’s gain.

Center 1. Greg Oden 2. Spencer Hawes 3. Jason Smith 4. Sean Williams 5. Aaron Gray
There is a huge gap between Oden and any other prospect not named Kevin Durant and there is a huge gap between center prospects after Spencer Hawes. Hibbert and Hawes have yet to distinguish themselves from each other but the consensus is that Hibbert will be the first of the two to be picked. Gray and Kyle Visser will likely be late second round picks with a slight chance to slip into the first. Players like Jason Smith and Tiago Splitter could also have the ability to play the five but are listed at PF. On talent alone, ex-Boston College Eagle Sean Williams would be at #3.
Projected first rounders: 4 |
