L.A. Story

http://i42.photobucket.com/albums/e316/blizzybone/untitled-67.png
Kobe Bryant has finally seemed to put the differences between him and Jerry Buss behind him following the hiring of VarsityKS as the Lakers new GM. "Well, atleast it's an indication that we're heading in the right direction", said Kobe, "Let's see how things move on from here." The Lakers have been concentrating on getting in defensive minded players with the acquisitions of Jason Collins and Tony Allen. "Andrew Bynum has been working really hard this off season, maybe it's because he can ask for a max contract."

Big Al putting in the work

Al Jefferson has showed massive improvement in the Summer League games this season. Jefferson's showing the critics that he might be able to carry on the legacy left behind by Kevin Garnett. "Al' just been dominating this summer league", said teammate Randy Foye, "He's putting up like 20 and 12 with 3 blocks. That's insane with all the pressure on him to perform. He's handling it like a pro." Speaking of insane, Foye has been putting up 20 points and 7 boards himself. Now that's insane

Meka, Felton traded to the Knicks

http://i42.photobucket.com/albums/e316/blizzybone/untitled-69.pngThis week finished off with the blockbuster trade between the Sixers and the Knicks. Off-Season acquisitions Emeka Okafor and Raymond Felton were traded to the Knicks for Eddy Curry and Jamal Crawford. Curry and Crawford are expected to hepl Andre Iguodala with the offense in Philly. Emeka on the other hand is expected to help out on defense in the Big Apple. "The crowd's tough here", said Okafor, "but hopefully they'll have something to cheer about with what I bring to the table."

The Under-Achievers of the NBA
What's going on?

It's not surprising to note that most of the under achievers are from the Eastern Conferece as the playoff picture in the West was more or less clear even before the season started. Let's take a look shall we?

Detroit Pistons - 3-9

Two weeks have gone by in the NBA and the Detroit Pistons find themselves dead last at the bottom of the Eastern Conference. I'll be honest, I'm as surprised as anyone to find the Pistons down so low. I mean they are last! After missing the NBA Finals by one game to a team led by the man-child LeBron James, to find themselves at the bottom of their conference must be a feeling that just makes their stomachs grumble. The Pistons returned this season with their same core with the re-signing of Chauncey Billups but things have just not clicked for the Pistons.

UNDER THE RADAR

David West has been lost in all the Hornets hype. CP3, Chandler and Peja maybe getting all the attention but West still continues to quietly improve putting up 14 points and 10 rebounds for his team, hitting the shots.

NBA CHAMPIONS

The San Antonio are etching their names in the history books. Dynasty or not? The Spurs aren't really concerned about that. It's all about championships, the respect will come after. Tim Duncan and co know that. Pretty soon it'll be Tony Parker and co. The Finals MVP was responsible for scortching the Cavaliers and completing the sweep. Then he goes and marries Eva Longoria. Can life get any better for the Frenchman?

2006-2007 NBA MVP

Dirk Nowitzki may have let his team mates down in the playoffs against the Golden State Warrirors but his achievements during the regular season were not over looked. Nowitzki posted 24.6 points and 8.9 boards leading the Mavericks to a league best 67 wins.

2006-2007 NBA ROTY

http://i42.photobucket.com/albums/e316/blizzybone/untitled-59.png

Brandon Roy has captivated everyone with his game and smile. Things can't be looking brighter for the new father, who is all set to team up with Greg Oden. Roy posted 16.6 points with 4.4 rebounds and 4 assists along with 1.2 steals.

Was trading Pierce for Jefferson the wrong move for the C's?
